The HU31026 includes five resistors designed to accurately replicate original equipment factory airbag resistance. Install the correct resistance simulators to duplicate the resistance values of various airbag system components.

When an airbag depoys, stress is applied to the airbag wiring harness and connectors. Proper airbag replacement should include a circuit test to verify if the system wiring and connectors have been damaged. SRS control units are not like other vehicle control units. In many SRS sytems, fault codes cannot be erased unless other test procedures have been performed and, in some cases, the control unit needs to be changed. Care must be taken to not introduce high resistance values greater than OE specifications through the wiring harness during diagnostic process. Damage could occur to the OE or a new SRS control unit. If the SRS/Airbag dash light is illuminated and an airbag has not been deployed, the problem could ba a faulty airbag. Disconnect the airbag connector, plug in a simulator plug with the proper resistor replacing the airbag, check to see if the dash light switches off.
